Meteonook doesn't seem to work as well with newer islands for predicting the exact time of meteors, but can still get you in the ballpark. (you can get a maximum of 20 stars by yourself per night, so it's not worth wishing more than that on a friend's island) You can wish on stars on other islands and the fragments will wash up on your own beach in the morning. Also watch for people on those communities and this one announcing they have their gates open for a meteor shower. If no one has donated star fragments to you yet, you might check out the code sharing thread in this community or try r/NoFeeAC or r/fofreeAC and see if anyone can help you out there. If you have Brewster's cafe unlocked, you can also check the cafe for Celeste between like 5:30 and 7 and she'll be there having coffee if she's visiting that night. Sometimes you only get a few per hour on a clear night, so if you aren't playing for long stretches at night it can be really easy to not see any.įor Celeste: You can do group stretches after 7pm and Celeste will join if she's on your island. Shooting stars only happen after 7pm and they make a little twinkle noise, so if you play without sound they can be really easy to miss. Star Fragments are earned by wishing on stars during a Meteor Shower event, which causes the Fragments to wash up on the island's beach the following morning. They happen sometimes where you only get a few meteors over the course of several weeks. There are currently three types of Star Fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including the regular Star Fragments, Large Star Fragments, and Zodiac Star Fragments.
